Recertification every 3 years: 12 CEUs related to birth, postpartum, lactation, or professional development must be submitted for recertification. There are no fees for recertification.
Note: some states may require additional CEUs for Medicaid provider recertification. It is the responsibility of the certified birth worker to know and meet the requirements in their state.

Advanced Standing & Equivalency

BirthPro's Advanced Standing & Equivalency pathway is designed for experienced birth workers who are ready to make their practice official and get paid through Medicaid for the care they're already providing.
Who this is for:

Practicing doulas who are not yet formally certified

Birth workers certified through an organization not currently approved by your state Medicaid or insurance program
Requirements:

Copy of existing certification or documented experience summary

Two professional references

Reflective portfolio (included in application)
