Founder • Doula Trainer & Mentor
Lorie Michaels is the founder of BirthPro and a passionate advocate for physiologic, inclusive, and culturally responsive birth care. For more than two decades, she has served as a doula, childbirth educator, lactation counselor, and mentor, guiding families and training birth professionals across diverse communities.
Her teaching blends evidence-based skills with a deep respect for the cultural, emotional, and physical rhythms of birth. Lorie specializes in trauma-informed, equity-driven, and bodywise care — empowering doulas to support all birthing people with confidence and compassion.
Lorie has mentored hundreds of doulas, developed training programs centered on LGBTQ+ and BIPOC perspectives, and championed birth equity through advocacy, education, and community partnerships. Lorie believes that well-supported doulas change birth outcomes — and that changing birth changes the world.
