Training & Scholarship Availability
BirthPro’s Full-Spectrum Doula Training prepares doulas to support families across pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with a strong foundation in physiology, emotional support, advocacy, and trauma-aware care. Programs are offered in hybrid and virtual formats, combining live instruction with guided independent learning.
To expand access to doula education — and to the families doulas serve — we offer a limited number of full and partial scholarships for select cohorts. Scholarship opportunities are supported through community partnerships, workforce initiatives, and regional funding programs.
Availability varies based on location, cohort timing, and current funding cycles.

Scholarship Consideration
While all are welcome to apply, some scholarship funding is designated to strengthen doula access in underserved communities. Priority consideration may be given to applicants who:
-
Plan to serve Medicaid or publicly insured families
-
Live or work in areas with limited doula access
-
Identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, or part of other underrepresented communities in birth work
-
Are veterans, active duty military, or military spouses
-
Demonstrate financial need impacting training access
Applicants not meeting these criteria may still be eligible for partial scholarships or reduced tuition based on cohort capacity.

Scholarship & Training FAQs

Who are scholarships intended for?
Scholarships are intended to support doulas who are committed to serving families with limited access to care in their communities.
For some cohorts, priority consideration may be given to doulas who plan to serve Medicaid or publicly insured families as part of their doula practice, in alignment with regional workforce initiatives and funding partnerships.
Why is serving Medicaid clients required for some full scholarships?
Some scholarship cohorts are funded through workforce development initiatives designed to expand access to doula care for families who rely on Medicaid during pregnancy and postpartum.
When scholarships are funded through these initiatives, recipients may be asked to commit to serving Medicaid families so that training support directly increases care access where it is most needed.
Not all scholarships carry this requirement; criteria vary by funding source and cohort structure.

Do I need to be enrolled as a Medicaid doula already?
No. You do not need to be enrolled as a Medicaid provider at the time of application.
Training, certification guidance, and mentorship around practice readiness — including Medicaid enrollment pathways where applicable — are included as part of the program.
What if I’m interested in training but not able to serve Medicaid clients?
You are still welcome to apply for training.
While some full scholarships are designated for Medicaid-serving doulas, partial scholarships or reduced tuition options may be available based on individual circumstances, funding availability, and cohort capacity.
Does submitting this form guarantee a scholarship or a spot in training?
No. Submission of this form helps us understand your interest, location, and training goals.
Scholarships and training spots are limited and reviewed on a rolling basis based on cohort capacity, funding availability, and regional workforce needs.

What if my county or region has limited availability right now?
Training and scholarship availability varies by region based on current partnerships, workforce initiatives, and funding alignment.
Even if support is limited for a specific cohort, your application helps inform future training opportunities, scholarship expansion, and advocacy efforts in your area.
Who can I contact with questions?
If you have questions about training, scholarships, or readiness to serve Medicaid or community-based clients, you’re welcome to reach out to us directly before applying.
