Lorie Michaels, CD(DONA), LCCE, CLC, SpBAP, SpCPE, BRMPro+, PMH-C

Founder of BirthPro • Doula Trainer & Mentor

With more than two decades of experience as a doula, childbirth educator, and bodyworker, Lorie has guided hundreds of families through birth and postpartum while mentoring the next generation of doulas.

An Army veteran with a background in psychology and chemical dependency counseling, she brings both compassion and clinical insight to her work.

Her approach blends evidence-based training with healing practices such as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), body balancing, and perinatal mental health support. Lorie’s teaching is deeply inclusive, centering LGBTQ+ families and BIPOC perspectives, and is anchored in trauma-informed, equity-driven care.

She is a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C), Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, Certified Lactation Counselor, DONA Certified Doula, Spinning Babies® Parent Educator & Aware Practitioner, and Body Ready Method® Pro, among other specialized trainings.

Beyond her credentials, Lorie is a healer, mother, and advocate who believes that “the more we help and honor each other, the better our world becomes.”

At BirthPro, we believe that every doula deserves to feel confident, supported, and connected as they grow in their practice. This program was born out of a deep commitment to excellence in doula care—and the recognition that training shouldn’t end after the first workshop.
