Margaret Walker, CD (DONA)

Boston, MA

Birth Doula

I am a caretaker and nurturer who invests deeply in creating a more just, compassionate world. My experience in healthcare began at The Family Van, a mobile clinic that improves access to preventative screenings and resources with relationship-centered approach. I know firsthand the immense and transformative impact that non-judgemental, peer-based accompaniment can have on individuals, families, and communities.

For as long as I can remember, I have felt drawn to pregnancy and childbirth, and becoming a doula felt like a natural progression on my journey within the health field. My dream of practicing as a birth worker came to fruition after I completed my training and certification through DONA International. I have accompanied families throughout the Greater Boston area, providing services in both English and Spanish.

My educational background is in Anthropology, and I am profoundly inspired by the long history of humans supporting each other through pregnancy and birth. My practice is rooted in the belief that, when given proper space and encouragement, we can access the immense wisdom that our bodies hold.

I am a lifelong learner, raised by two teachers, and I approach the world with boundless curiosity. In my free time you can find me taking walks in the urban woods and expressing myself creatively through baking, writing, & dance.
